Free Arts For Abused Children
Selita helps bring art programs and other fun activities to at-risk Children, by giving them a chance to express themselves through art.

About Free Arts
Free Arts for Abused Children was founded in 1977 by a group of caring artists from Malibu who believed the healing and therapeutic power of the arts could help transform the lives of abused and neglected children. When Free Arts opened its doors, it conducted a single program at a residential facility. As Free Arts grew, thousands of children benefited from the Weekly Volunteer Program and participated in Free Arts Days and Children’s Events.
In 1993 Free Arts began coordinating art activities in the waiting areas of the Edmund D. Edelman Children’s Courthouse in Monterey Park. This courthouse is dedicated to children’s issues and handles an average of 50,000 cases a year involving abuse, neglect and abandonment.
In 1994 Free Arts introduced Parents and Children Together with Art (PACT), a program designed to help families in crisis to bond and learn new and effective ways to communicate.
Free Arts programs are well received, sought after and regularly take place throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties. There is beginning outreach to the surrounding counties of Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura.
